Orff Schulwerk ‘Round the School Year
Sing, play, and move through the school year with a variety of Orff-Schulwerk based lessons for your classroom. Participants will have fun playing recorders, composing, and working in the meter of five as we travel the calendar from September to June.
Mona Mann teaches 5th and 6th grade general music at Roosevelt Middle School in River Forest, Illinois. She is in her fourteenth year of public school teaching and has taught children from kindergarten through 6th grade during that time. Mrs. Mann earned a degree in Flute and French from Indiana University Bloomington, as well as a Master’s in Music Education from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb. She holds a performance certificate in flute from the Conservatory in Strasbourg, France, where she studied for three years.
Mrs. Mann is a fully certified Orff-Schulwerk teacher specializing in recorders. She currently teaches Levels I, II, and III recorder at University of Saint Thomas summer Orff-Schulwerk training program in Saint Paul, MN. She also teaches recorder at the Early Music Festival in Whitewater, WI, and presented a session for teacher trainers at the national American Orff-Schulwerk conference in San Diego, CA in 2015.
