The drum provides a powerful bridge that connects the fundamentals of rhythm to an interesting and sophisticated sound structure. The format of a traditional Mande drumming class reflects Orff process perfectly: solo/copy (imitation), share the arrangement (exploration), and perform (improvisation). Light a fire in your classroom for students of all ages by taking this ubiquitous membranophone beyond the confines of a steady beat and into a world of musical imagination and expression.
